The business units are supported by enterprise-wide functions that set strategic direction, establish standards and provide governance, as well as supporting the business through shared services, centers of excellence and business partnering.Reporting to the Manager, Sales Contract Administration & Compliance, the Contract Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely entry and management of contracts for Concentrate and Refined Metal products, the maintenance of customer/vendor master data, and related compliance and reporting requirements. Additional areas of focus may include: supporting marketing, logistics and contract planning; assisting with competitive procurement and contract opportunities; contributing to special projects relating to system enhancements; and other corporate and operational priorities.To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with good attention to detail, an effective and efficient communicator and a collaborator with the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. The contract analyst is expected to apply and integrate critical thinking and a continuous improvement mentality into contract-related processes while exerting sound professional judgment following Teck’s values and priorities, including safety, cost-efficiency, sustainability and operational excellence.This is an exciting growth-focused opportunity to be part of a dynamic team with one of Canada’s leading mining companies!ResponsibilitiesBe a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and proceduresCollaborate with Marketing and Logistics, finance, information technology / digital services, legal and other Teck teams across multiple jurisdictionsContribute to the development of contract metrics reporting systems and processes, and other strategic projectsCoordinates the implementation of “best practices” in contracting proceduresCoordinate the timely and accurate input of contracts in SAP ERP system and obtains all required SOX approvalsAct as an SAP “super user” to identify, own and resolve issues with information technology / digital services team membersDocument and detail the contract administration and master data processes for SOX, ISO, and effective trainingFacilitate the timely and accurate input of Master Data customer and vendor information into SAP and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systemsPeriodic review of CRM for document and workflow completionTrack shipment schedules and updates contracts in SAP accordinglyCollaborate and cross-train with team membersTimely collection of required audit documents during periodic auditCapture additional data requirements for Key Performance Indicator trackingProvide month-end, quarter-end and year-end supportProvide support during tax audits, contribute to and review audit packages and related processesUnderstand, align with, and follow internal policies and proceduresQualificationsMinimum 3 years of professional experience working with customers in a B2B environmentA college or university degree or technical training in business, supply chain/logistics, law, engineering, or similar disciplinesFamiliarity with commodities including copper, molybdenum, zinc, lead, specialty and precious metals or other industrial products is preferredKnowledge of transportation/logistics (ocean, rail & trucking) fundamentalsProficient digital literacy with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and adaptability to new systemsExperience with SAP, Power BI, Power Automate and CRM systems and functionalityGood knowledge and experience with data capture, entry, analysis and presentationKnowledge and comprehension of sales contracts, including terms and conditions, administration processes and active management thereofRelationship building and communications skills are required to manage external and internal connections (e.g., marketing managers & specialists, accounting, logistics and customers)Flexible and adaptable to changeExperience with negotiation preparation and executionFluency or familiarity with Spanish is an assetWhy Join Us?At Teck, we offer more than just a job – we provide a pathway to personal and professional enrichment.
