Hybrid: This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.Job Summary:Trane is looking to fill the role of Area Digital Sales Manager in Western Canada with an inspirational “rain maker” that possesses the ability to lead a team of sales professionals in delivering expediential growth in our Controls and Digital Service Business. In this position, you will build, develop and coach a high-performing sales team, located across Western Canada, in delivering building controls and digital service solutions to both owner-direct customer and construction-market accounts.The individual must be a Player/Coach – with the ability to work “on” the business and “in” the business:

  • Local Market Leader / Opportunity Strategist / Executive relationships – Leading the sales team with active engagement in supporting pursuits, orchestrating external relationships and internal business development resources, and activity engaged with the market and key accounts as the face of the Trane.
  • Coach & Development – Building and developing a professional sales team that is process oriented, structured to capture market opportunity, and relentless in their customer focus. Elevate individual seller proficiency through professional sales skill development, industry and offering knowledge, and activity management
  • Strategy Contribution and Deployment – Active contribution to the regional sales strategies in supporting Regional Leadership in developing and deploying national sales strategy, programs, and initiatives
  • Tenacity & Accountability – Skilled at forecasting and accountable for secured results. Proactively allocate team resources and manage activity to ensure robust sales pipelines and delivery on sales plans.

Responsibilities:· Overall responsibility for customer and regional sales management engagement, new customer acquisition, customer satisfaction measurement, price management, marketing, maximizing account penetration, market penetration, customer retention, hiring and on-boarding of new sales professionals, continued assessment of skills and administering necessary training, setting quotas, accurate sales forecasting and consistent use of Trane sales tools and systems.

  • Deploy and manage a disciplined account management go-to-market strategy using account management principles, including account plans and reviews – in both the Owner-direct and construction markets
  • Robust understanding and discipline application of CRM systems to forecast and track sales results, utilize leading and lagging KPIs to coach sales performance, and manage salesperson proficiency.
  • Work with the sales team to develop a robust pipeline of opportunities to achieve established sales targets.
  • As a functional leader, posses the ability to influence and collaborate with Area leaders towards achieving sales team objectives.
  • Be the face of Trane’s Controls and Digital Service business in the respective markets. Actively participate in industry events, network with key decision makers, influence industry contacts and collaborate internally to create business opportunities
  • Leverage Lean principles in managing the business while tracking leading and lagging metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Build teams internally with all Trane offices to deliver value to strategic accounts and to employees and the company.
  • Regular travel of two to three days per week, based upon the response to the needs of our customers. Expected on average annually but level varies during the course of a year.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of (3) years of sales management experience, minimum (3) years in the commercial HVAC industry and associated building controls and technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Intimate understanding of sales process, and consistent application to drive sales team productivity
  • Resourceful, problem-solver that is energetic and able to manage multiple priorities

Total Targeted Compensation for this role includes a base salary and an incentive plan: Total Targeted Compensation range of $140,000 – $210,000 annually.Disclaimer: This “range” could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed, education, experience, travel requirements for the job, or because of a system the employer uses to measure earnings by quantity or quality of production (so, for example, positions that may not have traditional salary ranges).
