RSPB
The Corporate Fundraising Officer’s role is to generate income from companies in England to
support the RSPB’s key conservation and people engagement work via various channels including
our Corporate Membership scheme, Corporate Team Challenges, Corporate grants, sponsorship’s and
partnerships.
The successful candidate will be based in England, ideally (but not essentially) in the
South East/London area. The role could be done from home, although we do have a number of
office locations.
What’s the role about?
Working with colleagues you will be:
- leading relationships with certain companies;
- working with other fundraising colleagues, supporting and helping to enhance established
corporate relationships and helping to add value to new propositions; - working with our reserves teams, identifying potential opportunities that may appeal to
companies; - working with our people engagement teams on exciting opportunities for sponsorship;
- involved in co-coordinating the delivery of funder fulfilment, usually via other
colleagues; and - ensuring that any funder that we may work with aligns with the, or is working towards, the
environmental standards which we demand.
This work area will be measured against agreed income targets to support RSPB’s work in line
with key performance indicators.
You would be expected to proactively research and pursue funding opportunities and
relationships; identifying new potential sources of income to support identified priorities and
maximise funding opportunities by contributing to the implementation of an agreed
fundraising plan; working with operational teams on specific projects to meet funders and
project timescales.
You will be expected to update and utilise our Customer Relationship Management system to
ensure accurate records are kept facilitating effective contact management across the
organisation
What we need from you
Essentials:
- Working knowledge and application of relevant Chartered Institute of Fundraising,
Fundraising Regulator and Charities Act regulations and guidelines. - Relevant understanding of fundraising, including supporter motivations
- Experience in fundraising/ sales/project management and delivering to income targets.
- Successful relationship development in an outward facing role.
Desirable:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret complex
information and present it with clarity. - Persuasive negotiator with the ability to influence.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office.
- Able to work under own initiative and prioritise work in order to get the right things
done, with the confidence to ask for support and direction where needed. - Able to develop and maintain excellent relationships with external and internal
stakeholders, delivering a high level of customer service to a variety of audiences. - Good level of numeracy; ability to analyse data, identify trends and make recommendations
for change.

This is a Permanent Part-Time role for 21.5 hours per week.
