Position: Corporate Service Continuity LeadDivision: Saskatoon FireDepartment: Emergency ManagementTerm: 1 Permanent Full Time position available.Closing Date: This position will be posted until filledLabour Group: ESAPosting: 4057Job SummaryThis position provides leadership, governance and guidance in support of the City’s resiliency through development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Corporate Service Continuity Management Program. Additionally, to provide leadership with community partners, businesses and non-profit groups within Saskatoon to build community resiliency.The work you’ll be involved in:
- Develops and oversees all aspects related to the implementation of the City of Saskatoon Service Continuity Management Framework and governance to facilitate preparedness, response and recovery to planned/unplanned event that disrupts the use of critical services.
- Develops and maintains service continuity policy, strategy and program objectives, in collaboration with City leadership, and operational and service departments.
- Manages and coordinates the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Service Continuity Program.
- Analyzes risks and potential impacts, designs a comprehensive continuity program, and works on integrating these strategies into the organization’s overall operational framework.
- Provides leadership, support, mentorship to internal stakeholders as required as a subject matter expert.
- Liaises with internal program users, other municipalities, associations and external stakeholders to ensure that the City’s quality management processes and activities align with organizational needs and industry best practices.
- Develops and administers internal training programs based on identified training needs related to service continuity
- In collaboration with departments and divisions, deliver and participate in a City of Saskatoon emergency response and service continuity exercise plan.
- Ensure the Service Continuity Management Framework aligns with the overall Emergency Management requirements and associated recovery strategies.
- Lead and embed continuous improvement processes to support Service Continuity Management.
- Establish key continuity management performance indicators and other governance and compliance requirements for service continuity and critical infrastructure management.
- Develops, coordinates and manages project budgets.
- Prepares written and oral reports in response to stakeholder and corporate enquiries, as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
The type of person we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Business Management, Business Continuity, Emergency Management or related discipline.
- Seven to nine years of directly related experience within a large and complex organization which includes collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on leading the planning and execution of program implementation and maintenance.
- Possession of a Business Continuity Professional accreditation would be an asset.
- Possession of an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information/evidence, exercising sound judgement to make decisions in complex and confidential situations, behaving at all times with tact, integrity and diplomacy.
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of program management in complex organizations with multiple stakeholders and business lines.
- Ability to build consensus, generate common understanding and create shared vision in an environment of diverse stakeholders and interests.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers, union representatives and external agencies.
- Innovative problem-solving skills with the proven ability to exercise flexibility and judgement.
- Possession of a valid, Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence.
- Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
