Functional Responsibilities

Purpose and Scope of Assignment

Under the guidance of the Corporate Strategy Specialist

  • Prepare qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform the development of key instruments of strategic planning and strategy deployment, including the UNOPS strategic plan and associated midterm reviews

  • Prepare qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform preparation of the annual report of the Executive Director, as well as real-time reporting on UNOPS activities, contributions and impact, including project linkages to the SDGs

  • Draft inputs for responses to external reporting requests; identify input required from other business units, request and consolidate these

  • Draft thematic analysis in relation to areas of strategic relevance

  • Provide administrative support to the Secretariat of the Audit Advisory Committee (AAC), including scheduling and facilitating meetings; as well as to CS

Monitoring and Progress Controls

The Corporate Strategy Senior Analyst will be continuously briefed on individual and group activities and performance. Formal monitoring and progress controls on assigned work items will take place in accordance with business needs and timelines for deliverables.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) preferably in political science, social science, business or public administration, or related field is required.
  • Applicants with a bachelor degree with additional two years of relevant working experience may also be considered.
Work Experience
  • A minimum 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Experience in independent research, text analysis and compilation of tailored texts under consideration of audience needs and purpose is desirable.
  • Experience in working with large data sets and applications to process and analyse data is desirable.
  • Experience working in a global or international organisation is an asset.
Language Requirements

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Fluency in either French or Spanish would be an asset.
