The School is home to around 3,500 students studying full time, part time and in modular modes.The School’s Academic Services team provides administrative support and advice to academic and administrative staff within the School; it also encompasses day-to-day support for the School’s degree programmes. The team is involved in the admissions and recruitment, programme approval process, managing student appeals and complaints, providing expert assessment advice, managing timetabling and examinations issues and is also responsible for data and management information.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be a key member of School’s Student and Academic Administration Services team, reporting to the Course Operations Manager or their deputy. This post is responsible for the daily administration of allocated programmes including academic support, student administration and assessment. This post is to ensure the provision of a proactive, efficient and professional service working closely with relevant professional and academic staff, particularly the Programme Director, in order to maintain and enhance the student and applicant experience.This varied role requires the use of independent judgement and initiative, strong administrative and excellent interpersonal skills. Accuracy and an eye to detail are essential for this post as well as excellent customer service and organisational skills.Person SpecificationWith a customer centred approach, you will have a degree or equivalent experience, and administrative experience in an office environment ideally within higher education. You will have excellent communication skills and exceptional organisational skill and will be able to work comfortably within a team as well as with a minimum of supervision.A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including experience of working with databases is essential.
