Pay Rate: £110 – £130 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/Part-timeAbout the Role:As a Cover Teacher (CS), you will provide essential classroom support during teacher absences, ensuring continuity in students’ education. This role requires adaptability, strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students across various year groups and subjects.Cover Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a positive and structured learning environment, ensuring the smooth delivery of pre-planned lessons.
  • Teach across various subjects and year groups, adapting to the needs of each class.
  • Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages student participation and academic curiosity.
  • Implement and uphold the school’s behaviour policies to ensure a respectful and focused classroom.
  • Quickly adapt to different teaching scenarios, including short-notice cover assignments.
  • Work closely with permanent staff to support student learning and well-being.

Cover Teacher Job Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching in UK schools, with a solid grasp of the national curriculum.
  • Qualifications with a degree in Education or subject specialism is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the UK education system and curriculum.
  • Strong classroom management skills, excellent communication and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Willingness to work on a casual basis with availability to cover at short notice.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and the ability to inspire students to achieve their best.
  • Ability to handle diverse teaching situations and deliver lessons with professionalism.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
