Cryo-EM Facilities ManagerThe UK Structural & Biophysical Sciences group is a global multi-disciplinary department within GSK R&D that provides molecular insights into drug discovery for small molecule, oligonucleotide, biopharmaceutical and vaccine programs.This role is an excellent opportunity for a team-oriented individual who is keen to apply their skills in managing a highly productive cryo-EM facility. As a key member of a team of over a dozen accomplished structural biologists, you will hold the crucial responsibility of operating and maintaining three state-of-the-art cryo-EM microscopes. Your role will encompass troubleshooting, calibration, and regular upkeep to ensure optimal performance.In this pivotal role in drug discovery, you will collaborate with researchers both within and outside the department, leveraging cryo-EM to directly impact the advancement of medicines. You will also have the unique opportunity to share your expertise, guiding and nurturing a team of passionate individuals in the use of cryo-EM technology.Staying abreast of the latest developments in cryo-EM technology is vital, ensuring that our team and facility remain at the forefront of the field. If you have an aptitude and knowledge of related topics of data processing, computational infrastructure, sample preparation, cryo-ET, or knowledge of other structural methods, we would be eager to leverage and maximise your potential within the department.In this role you will:
