Customer Delivery Driver – Truganina Customer Fulfilment Centre

Our new Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) are an even smarter and easier way to fulfil online orders and deliver the smiles for our customers. And you could get involved. Your role, no matter where you are at a CFC, will have a direct contribution to every customer’s order. How good is that!

It will be a new environment that will combine technology with teamwork to create a safe place where everyone feels welcome. Thorough training and support from our leadership teams will ensure you’re confident in your new role. Whether it’s a foot in the door, flexible work hours or the foundations of a stable role, a Coles CFC has what you’re looking for.

About the role

A Customer Delivery Driver role is an opportunity to directly interact with customers. You can combine your people skills with time management to make sure you deliver the orders on time, and the smiles too.

Aside from seeing customer satisfaction first-hand, you’ll also appreciate the unique benefits the technology at a CFC brings. The van is already loaded with the shift’s orders arranged according to the route, which is also mapped out in the most efficient way.

So, what’s the challenging bits?

You’ll need to deliver orders within a set timeframe and in a safe manner. Also, you’ll be required to maintain the van, from keeping it clean to making sure it’s re-fueled. This can all be done at the CFC, which has diesel pumps and an automated car wash on site.

You’ll also need to have the ability to be on your feet and to carry out moderate lifting, pushing, pulling and reaching within a highly automated environment. A driving check and Police check will be required.

About you and your skills

  • An unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence or green probationary license and safe driving record (you’ll need to consent to undergo both a police history check and driving history check)
  • The confidence to safely drive and navigate through busy streets, suburban roads and/or regional areas
  • To be active – as well as driving, you’ll be on your feet, lifting and carrying groceries from the van to your delivery points (there could be stairs!)
  • A commitment to providing great customer experiences by working with enthusiasm, energy, and pace
  • Following procedures and ensuring schedules and deadlines are met
  • Availability to work flexible hours across the week, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
  • Ideally a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate or card (but if not, we can support you to get this)

What’s in it for you?

  • Efficiency: Now you can start your shift in drive. Because the van is already loaded, the orders arranged by route, and the most efficient way sorted.
  • Flexibility: Our hours of operation means we can offer a variety of shifts to suit your life.
  • Community: Our team leaders are excited about building on the community spirit inside and outside of the CFC with diverse teams delivering a great online shopping experience to people in the area.
  • Discounts: You’ll receive discounts across all our Coles brands (supermarkets, liquor and online), and for a huge variety of other partner retailers: sporting/entertainment, technology, getaways, healthcare and more. We double your discount for 70 days of the year at times that it matters most like summer holidays.
  • Onsite perks: We offer free parking, an onsite canteen serving a variety of delicious meals at budget-friendly prices, BBQ areas and more.

About the application process

Don’t feel like you meet every requirement? We’d love to receive your application if most of your experience matches, and you think you’ll thrive in this role.

We’re continuing to build a gender equitable team, and a culture that is just as diverse, inclusive and welcoming as the communities we serve. We are committed to creating a workplace that is safe and respectful for our team. We encourage applications from people of all ages, cultures (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples), abilities, sexual orientation and gender identities.

We’re happy to adjust our recruitment process to support candidates with disability. For further information and additional contact details visit the ‘Our Recruitment Process’ section of our careers site or email inclusionrecruitment@coles.com.au
