Customer Service Representative in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Customer Service Representative in the non-profit industry, based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. As a Customer Service Representative, your main role will be to manage client intake and determine eligibility for our programs. You will also be tasked with fostering a positive work environment and representing our organization at county events.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately determine and enroll families into our programs, ensuring compliance with program regulations and standards.

• Maintain a minimum standard of quality as established by the program regulations and within our guidelines.

• Collaborate with other departments within our organization to ensure maximum benefits to families.

• Represent our organization at county inter-agency meetings and other county events.

• Implement our organization’s values at all times.

• Attend and actively participate in all staff meetings, improvement processes, and detail oriented development trainings.

• Adhere to our personnel policies, fiscal procedures, and all other workplace rules.

• Provide referral, outreach, and advocacy services for families with other human service organizations, utility companies, childcare providers, and other private and public entities.

• Handle client inquiries and resolve any issues they may face.

• Monitor client accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Requirements • Prior experience in a customer service role is required

• Proficiency in operating switchboards with 1-10 lines

• Demonstrable experience in data entry with high accuracy levels

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to effectively manage difficult customer situations

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• High level of professionalism and strong work ethic

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and to help identify and solve problems

• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems

• Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations

• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
