Customer Service Representative in Walnut Creek, California

Commercial insurance client is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative. The CSR will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our business clients, answering inquiries about policies, assisting with claims, processing requests, and ensuring a seamless experience for all customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial insurance products and a passion for helping others.

This position is offered on a contract basis for 3-4 months to support their rapid growth. This is a fully remote position, but you must be able to work M-F, 9AM-5PM PST.

To be considered for this position you MUST have:

1) Current California Property and Casualty license as an agent or broker

2) Experience using TAM – Applied Systems software program

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Support: Respond promptly and professionally to inbound inquiries via phone, email, or chat, addressing clients’ questions about commercial insurance policies, claims, coverage options, and billing.

Policy Assistance: Assist clients in understanding their commercial insurance policies, providing explanations on coverage, terms, and conditions. Help with policy renewals, updates, and modifications.

Claims Management: Guide clients through the claims process, including helping them submit claims, gathering required documentation, and providing status updates. Ensure clients are informed of any necessary steps.

Problem Resolution: Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Escalate complex issues to management or relevant departments when necessary.

Administrative Tasks: Accurately enter and maintain customer information and data in the system. Process payments, policy changes, and new policy requests as needed.

Retention and Up-selling: Work to retain business clients by providing personalized solutions. Recommend additional coverage or products based on customer needs to ensure they are fully protected.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including underwriters, claims adjusters, and sales, to provide efficient service and ensure a positive customer experience.

Requirements • Possesses skills in answering inbound calls, demonstrating the ability to handle customer queries promptly and efficiently.

• Experience in a call center customer service environment, showcasing excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Strong customer service skills, with an emphasis on maintaining positive customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Proficiency in data entry, with the ability to enter and update customer information accurately and swiftly.

• Ability to handle email correspondence professionally, ensuring timely responses and resolution of customer issues.

• Experience in handling both inbound and outbound calls, demonstrating a high level of efficiency and multitasking skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, showcasing the ability to manage and organize data effectively.

• Experience in order entry, ensuring all customer orders are accurately recorded and processed.

• Ability to schedule appointments effectively, ensuring optimal time management and organization.

• Knowledge of property casualty insurance, demonstrating an understanding of industry standards and regulations.
