Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team in Westerly, Rhode Island. This role is primarily focused on providing administrative support to the transportation department and ensuring optimal customer service. The position offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative assistance to the transportation team, including answering phones, coordinating schedule changes or updates, and providing support to dispatchers when required.
• Handle customer inquiries, effectively listening to their concerns and providing solutions or resolving issues.
• Manage data entry tasks, including logging notes, changes, or updates into the relevant software systems.
• Maintain a high level of adaptability, pivoting as needed to accommodate changes throughout the day.
• Display strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when interacting with customers or team members.
• Use the provided list of contact numbers for reaching out as needed.
• Support dispatchers through two-way radio communications when necessary.
• Demonstrate strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as in the use of the Tyler Versatrans system.
• Show proficiency in tasks such as answering inbound calls, call center customer service, data entry, email correspondence, inbound and outbound calls, order entry, and scheduling appointments.
• Exhibit knowledge of the transportation industry and dispatching processes. Requirements • Proven experience in a customer service role
• Proficiency in answering inbound calls and handling both inbound and outbound calls
• Familiarity with call center customer service protocols
• Strong data entry skills
• Ability to manage email correspondence effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Experience with order entry processes
• Ability to schedule appointments accurately and efficiently
• Experience in dispatching within the transportation industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer complaints
• High level of professionalism and a positive attitude
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time effectively
• Flexibility to work in different shifts or extended hours if required
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education degree preferred.
