Job description

TasksThe Customs & Export Control Manager is responsible for:

• Develop and update trade compliance program & policies
• Ensure seamless export and import transactions & coordinate with service providers such as customs brokers as well as suppliers, customers
• Audit all export and import related documentation and processes including customs declarations for accuracy and potential compliance gaps and risks
• Ensure administrative & regulatory requirements are met
• Maintain the integrity & completeness of the compliance program
• Maximize corporate efficiency & minimize regulatory ris
• Conduct import & export Risk Assessments to inform Management of potential compliance issues
• Interface to central Customs and Export Compliance departments
• Support operation & business units regarding product classification (HS and ECL) issues

• Participate in other duties as assigned

• High school diploma/GED requiered
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of 7 to 10 years in Export Trade Compliance, preferably within a company in the aviation sector or related industry
• Government contractor experience desired
• Experience in Canadian customs and export control compliance including import/export regulations, policy and procedure development, customs audit management, duty reductions & recovery programs, valuation and preferential trade programs
• Experience with Canadian Customs Tariff/Export classification and Export Control material classifications
• Experience working directly with CBSA and Other Government Agencies
• Fluency in English language
• Must possess permit to work in the Canada
• Willingness to travel
