Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Cybersecurity Operations Lead to oversee and manage our threat detection and vulnerability management efforts across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, specializing in cybersecurity tools such as Tenable, Splunk UF, CrowdStrike, Trellix, Armis, and ExtraHop. In this critical role, you will be responsible for actively monitoring security feeds from the Oracle Cloud environment and ensuring the cybersecurity team is aware of and responds to identified vulnerabilities.
As the Cybersecurity Operations Lead, you will work closely with both technical and business teams, ensuring proper analysis of cybersecurity data and communicating risks through comprehensive dashboards. Your collaboration with the engineering team will be essential in ensuring the successful installation and integration of IHS-provided security tools, driving continuous improvements in cybersecurity posture.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Vulnerability Monitoring & Risk Assessment:
Actively monitor and analyze cybersecurity feeds, with a focus on vulnerabilities within the Oracle Cloud environment.
Identify, assess, and prioritize risks associated with vulnerabilities and incidents.
Ensure the cybersecurity team is promptly informed of emerging vulnerabilities and threats.
Tool Expertise & Analysis:
Utilize industry-leading tools (Tenable, Splunk UF, CrowdStrike, Trellix, Armis, ExtraHop) to gather, analyze, and respond to security data.
Provide in-depth analysis of vulnerabilities, incidents, and trends, and effectively communicate potential risks to internal stakeholders.
Dashboards & Reporting:
Develop and maintain security dashboards to convey risk levels, emerging threats, and vulnerabilities in an understandable and actionable format for stakeholders.
Produce regular reports and updates for senior leadership on security posture and ongoing initiatives.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Work cross-functionally with engineering and other cybersecurity teams to ensure effective integration and proper configuration of security tools.
Coordinate with different teams within cybersecurity to ensure alignment in risk mitigation and response efforts.
Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure successful installation and maintenance of IHS-provided tools and technologies.
Process Improvement:
Continuously assess and recommend improvements to monitoring tools, processes, and team workflows.
Foster a culture of security awareness and best practices throughout the organization.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or years of equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, with a focus on threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response
Expertise with cybersecurity tools and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, including Tenable, Splunk UF, CrowdStrike, Trellix, Armis, and ExtraHop
Strong understanding of cloud security, especially within Oracle Cloud environments
Proven ability to analyze complex security data and communicate risks effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience developing and maintaining security dashboards and reports
Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance
Ability to travel <25% of the year, if needed
Preferred Qualifications :
Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or other relevant cybersecurity-related certifications
Experience working in a large-scale enterprise or managed services environment
Skilled in NIST, FISMA or other regulatory frameworks
Knowledge of automation and orchestration in cybersecurity operations
Detail oriented and strong problem-solving and analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security challenges
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and levels of the organization
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 – $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
