How can you make a difference?
This post focuses on the collection, analysis and use of data to help connect analytics, monitoring and learning to support evidence-based programming and advocacy to accelerate results for children.
This post provides leadership, oversight and technical capacity for responsible collection and use of data within UNICEF and with its partners. The post will facilitate UNICEF’s custodianship and co-custodianship role for child-focused SDG indicators, and will help position UNICEF’s value proposition in data, in order to anchor children at the center of national planning and investments, policy making as well as monitoring of outcomes of programmes and results for children. It will provide technical support to Country Offices and country partners in their planning and implementation of data collection, management and analysis work to strengthen statistical and strategic analytical evidence on child rights issues in the EAP region to inform programming, and to monitor and assess progress towards achieving SDGs for children.
The incumbent will provide oversight for the management of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS) and other household surveys, as well as the strengthening of administrative data systems. The post will further support data governance to ensure that the seven principles of Responsible Data for Children, the Ethical Guidelines and Data Protection Policy, and the Quality Framework, are applied to data initiatives at the regional and country levels.
The Data and Analytics Manager will also contribute to cross-country and global networking and learning on data for children, monitoring child-focused SDG and child rights indicators. The incumbent will also leverage partnerships with national statistical systems and Regional Economic Commission, and support building alliances with other development partners to provide timely generation and use of data, analysis and investments into national development plans and processes.

Education: An advance degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Demography, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Development Studies or other relevant technical field with strong quantitative training is required.
