We are looking for experienced nurses to rise to the challenge and join our team in Nightingale and Woodpecker as an Day Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (with 2 years completed in the ECP pathway) or Trainee CNS (with willingness to complete this pathway), and on completion you will be automatically moved into the Band 7 CNS role.This is a ward-based clinical role, working closely with the ANP’s and within the wider MDT.Main duties of the job
- To act as a role model and expert practitioner
- To provide enhanced clinical care through health assessment, initiation of treatment, formulation and alteration of treatment and monitoring of care programs to children and young people within the agreed scope of practice
- To provide clinical leadership to a designated clinical team and ensure the provision of high-quality care to children and families
- To be a competent, knowledgeable and visible practitioner within the speciality, ensuring the provision of high quality evidence base nursing care
- To ensure the 6Cs are embedded within clinical practiceTo ensure clinical practice reflects NMC guidance and practice is delivered in line with the scope of practice and trust policies and guidelines
- To provide direct clinical care through health assessments and initiation of treatment for children attending for procedures/treatment within Nurse Specialist authorised scope of practice
- Ensure the provision of appropriate supervision and support to members of the team
- Support the provision of effective communication between all members of the multidisciplinary team, other hospital departments, relatives and visitors
- To foster and environment conducive to learning, enquiry and research
- To foster enquiry, to contribute to new ideas and innovations and to develop enhanced roles within the scope of professional practice.
- To maintain confidentiality surrounding the child’s admission and treatment at all times
