Reporting to the Provost & Vice-President (Academic), the Dean serves as the senior academic officer for Western Law, providing strategic direction, leadership in academic planning, and administrative oversight to ensure the highest standards in legal education and research.

As the ideal candidate, you are a scholar with a graduate degree at the Masters or PhD level and are appointable at the rank of Full Professor. You bring a background of teaching, research and professional experience consistent with the expectations of a dean at a world-class research university. You demonstrate dynamic financial and strategic management skills, and bring exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities as well as a creative approach to fundraising on behalf of the Faculty of Law.

You will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive culture, mentoring the next generation of lawyers and legal professionals, and working collaboratively with a highly skilled academic and administrative team. You have a demonstrated reputation of integrity, empathy and emotional intelligence that will enable you to ethically engage with a wide range of internal and external partners.
