About the Role
Applications are invited for the post of Departmental Fees Officer in the Income and Credit Control section of the Finance Department. The job will include all aspects of financial record keeping of the undergraduate and taught post-graduate students, including distance learners and students based in our overseas campus. The postholder will be expected to have a thorough and detailed knowledge of financial policies and procedures. The post will involve interaction with academic staff, students and external agencies on behalf of the student such as the Student Loans Company, SAAS and NHS.
About You
You should be educated to degree level; you will be an individual who is equally capable of working independently and as a member of a busy Fees team. You will be well-organised, able to prioritise and capable of working under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy. You will be IT literate, with experience of using complex databases in a financial context and have excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. You will be capable of carrying out tasks and making decisions consistently within a clear policy and regulatory framework, referring to managers only in complex cases. You should have experience of working in different currencies.
About the Department
The Finance Department is responsible for reporting on the overall financial performance of the university and the provision of financial information to other business functions underpinning business planning and decision-making, but also enabling the effective and efficient operations. The Income and Credit Control section sits within the Finance Department and is responsible for answering student enquiries, collecting the university debt, raising the university invoices, and providing support to the university academic departments.

The post is based on two sites Department W and IQ East in London. It is a full time, permanent appointment, with an expected start date in April 2023. The starting salary will be Grade 4, at £37,348 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
