Oxford Department of International Development, Queen Elizabeth House, 3 Mansfield Road, Oxford OX1 3TBThe Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) seeks applications for a two-years, full-time Departmental Lectureship in Development Studies. The Departmental Lecturer will provide teaching and supervision for the MPhil in Development Studies and carry out related independent research.The Departmental Lecturer will be responsible to the Head of Department and work under the supervision of the Course Director of the MPhil in Development Studies.We would welcome applications from those with research and teaching interests in social/cultural anthropology, and with an ability to teach in an inter- and multi-disciplinary development studies programme. A regional interest in Latin America is desirable but not required. The MPhil seeks to promote diversification and decolonization of the curriculum and teaching approaches.The postholder will hold, or be close to completion of a doctorate in social/cultural anthropology, or in an interdisciplinary field such as development studies, with a grounding in anthropological theory and methods. They will have an aptitude for teaching and some experience of teaching and research. They will also have an academic publication record commensurate with stage of career.This post is full-time and fixed-term for 2 years (with possibility of extension for further year)At ODID we embrace and cherish our differences, and endeavour to be considerate and welcoming of all.
