Deployment Technician in Gatineau, Quebec

Top 4 skills required:

1. At least 2 years of experience within the past 5 years installing and/or decommissioning of computer equipment.

2. At least 3 months of experience using BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or IFS Assyst for incident management.

3. At least 2 years of experience within the past 5 years providing deskside and/or remote technical support to clients.

4. ER Clearance

Description:

The DCS requires a team of Hardware Deployment Technicians to support a project and multiple fit up projects across several Government of Canada locations. Duties will include basic IT work, not requiring elevated privileges or access to any protected or sensitive data.

Level 1:

• Installation and configuration of peripherals.

• picking up devices.

• the delivering, moving, and installing of equipment in offices.

• disk wiping prior to removing old equipment from site.

• arranging and packaging equipment for disposal.

• tracking and reporting on progress.

• Incident management; assigning, assessing, resolving, and documenting service requests.

Level 2:

• Receiving calls from clients and recording service tickets.

• Assigning tickets to themselves and engaging clients to perform troubleshooting on their devices.

• Re-assignment of tickets that require escalation.

• Closing tickets that have been resolved satisfactorily and accurately documenting the resolution.

• Providing timely updates to clients on the status of their tickets.
