Know our team
Nutrition International’s Operations unit is a dedicated team of program implementation experts who are responsible for contributing to the overall management of NI’s field operations in Asia and Africa. This position will report to Country Director, Indonesia, and will be responsible for effectively managing all aspects of the implementation and development of the program and support functions to facilitate the implementation of Nutrition International’s (former Micronutrient Initiative) strategic objectives and country strategy in Indonesia.
About you
You are someone with at least a master’s degree in public health/health management/international development, and/or any related fields with strong experience / training in Project/ General management.
At least 10 years’ experience working with international development organizations in maternal child health & nutrition and fortification programs in Indonesia with 4-5 years of leadership experience of supervising, mentoring, and coaching senior and experienced staff.
You must have an excellent experience of managing complex projects and programs while engaging with donors & government officials.
You should have good spoken & written English and Fluent in Bahasa language.
About the role
The Deputy Country Director (DCD) will manage all aspects of program/project development and implementation, as assigned to him/her as well as support functions to facilitate the implementation of Nutrition International’s (NI) strategic objectives and country strategy in Indonesia.
He/She will play a key role in external representation, grant management, program/project coordination, and team leadership. The DCD will ensure that all administrative and financial support related to program/project implementation function efficiently and cost-effectively to achieve programming outcomes and targets. The DCD will also coordinate with regional and country office teams to support program/project implementation, as well as donors and other stakeholders, as appropriate.
In this role you will:
- Supports the Country Director in the development of country strategies and budgets.
- Generate innovative ideas that inform new ways of doing NI business to achieve greater impact as well as encourage program/project staff to do the same.
- Support the Country Director to mobilize resources through innovative program/project designs, proposal development, and advocacy.
- Lead teams and manage program/projects, including implementation timelines, budgets, and deliverables for all interventions.
- Manage the BISA project budget, including analysis, forecasting and reallocation of funds to ensure the full disbursement of NI and DFAT contributions.
- Monitor ISG intervention budgets, including forecasting and tracking expenditure to ensure that variances are within allowed limits, are fully explained and remedial actions are undertaken by National Program Officers and Senior Program Officers.
- Support the Country/Regional Technical Advisors in the organization and implementation of in-country research, evaluations, and dissemination exercises.
- Maintain good working relationships with, and knowledge of the work of, other actors involved in maternal and child health and nutrition and fortification.
