King's College London
About us
King’s Libraries & Collection’s strategy, Library Evolution, has been in place since 2018, delivering on goals to support King’s strategic vision for 2029. Library Evolution is re-shaping the role of the academic library, transforming access to collections, increasing research impact for King’s and supporting an interdisciplinary curriculum. Library Evolution is firmly pointed towards the Open Library, ensuring that information and knowledge is accessible to all.
We are recalibrating what King’s needs from its libraries to deliver teaching and learning in the future; in particular, how we will use our physical spaces and services to support e-research, digital scholarship and research enhanced learning. Libraries & Collections have recently received investment in our systems and in our digitisation facilities in preparation for the enhanced delivery of accessible digital collections for the university. We are re-emphasising the value of our community and are prioritising initiatives that put our people front and centre of Library Evolution. We need a Deputy Director to help shape and plan the delivery of this work.
Libraries & Collections support Education, Research and Scholarship at King’s via a range of services, facilities and world class collections. Libraries & Collections have six libraries across King’s four campuses, including the flagship Maughan Library on Chancery Lane, the Foyle Special Collections Library and King’s College London Archives. Libraries & Collections support nine faculties that span the breadth of Health, Arts and Science departments as well as providing services for both King’s College Hospital and Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Trusts.
