This initiative aims to revolutionize the airport into one of the most advanced, sustainable, and passenger-friendly facilities in the world. You’ll be responsible for:Strategic Program Delivery

  • Vision Alignment: Ensuring all program activities are aligned with the overall vision and strategic objectives, providing clear strategic direction and monitoring progress towards these goals.
  • Delivery Environment: Establishing and maintaining a robust program delivery environment encompassing people, organization, process, information, and technology to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Team Assembly: Assembling a highly skilled project team with the right experience, capabilities, and technical competency, including appointing external specialists as necessary.

Performance Improvement

  • Resource Optimization: Improving performance from the baseline by optimizing resource allocation, and continuously monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating activities, systems, and methodologies.
  • Performance Metrics: Developing and implementing metrics to measure and enhance program performance, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence in delivery.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Executive Engagement: Serving as a key contact for the executive team, ensuring efficient governance and gaining organizational support for program activities.
  • Client Relationship Management: Managing key client relationships through effective communication, constructive challenge, and consistent interface, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Public Representation: Acting as the public face of the program, representing it to external stakeholders and chairing executive steering group meetings.

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

  • Safety Standards: Directing and maintaining exceptional safety standards, promoting Mace’s value of Safety First, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all staff.
  • Quality Assurance: Upholding high standards of quality, cost, program, sustainability, governance, risk, stakeholder management, and program compliance.
  • Risk Management: Implementing and maintaining an effective risk management strategy, with appropriate management actions and risk treatments.

Program Documentation and Knowledge Sharing

  • Documentation Maintenance: Overseeing the development and maintenance of comprehensive program documentation, including processes, procedures, plans, reports, registers, and lessons learned.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Actively promoting knowledge sharing within the program team and across the organization, leveraging the full depth and knowledge of the business and Centers of Excellence.

Team Development and Service Excellence

  • High-Performing Team: Creating and nurturing a high-performing, inclusive team environment that encourages contribution, recognition, and continuous improvement.
  • Service Excellence: Promoting and influence quality and service excellence in all program interactions and conversations.

Commercial Viability

  • Commercial Objectives: Ensuring the program’s operations are commercially viable, influencing the achievement of business objectives.

  • Net Zero Carbon Transition: Working collaboratively towards the goal of net zero carbon transition, proactively identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during program delivery.

Thought Leadership

  • Expertise and Innovation: Providing thought leadership and expertise in program management and execution, driving innovation and best practices within the program and the wider organization.

You’ll need to have:

  • Membership of MCIOB / MAPM / MRICS / MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programs in the aviation infrastructure sector.
  • Deep construction management expertise.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.

You’ll also have:

  • Experience working in the aviation infrastructure sector.
  • Experience in a director level position.
  • Previous experience working with the GTAA (Greater Toronto Airports Authority) or equivalent.
  • Industry qualification or chartership e.g. PgMP, PMI, CMI, DBIA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable field.
