Job description

A well-established Catholic Girls’ Secondary School in Southwark, London, seeks a highly motivated and qualified Design & Technology (D&T) Teacher to join its dedicated faculty. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2024.Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging and stimulating D&T lessons across the curriculum, fostering a passion for creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills.
• Develop and implement a rigorous D&T curriculum aligned with National Curriculum standards, encouraging innovation and critical thinking.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students achieve their full potential.
• Play an active role in the D&T department’s development, including curriculum planning, resource creation, and collaborating with colleagues on departmental initiatives.
• Contribute to the overall academic progress and well-being of students through effective pastoral care and guidance.
• Build strong and positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Possession of a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Design & Technology is essential.
• A demonstrably successful track record of delivering engaging and effective D&T lessons to secondary school students.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• A genuine passion for design and technology, with a commitment to inspiring students to become confident and creative thinkers and makers.
• Prior experience utilizing technology and practical skills in the classroom is desirable.
• A steadfast commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
