state-of-the-art Jackman Law Building, alongside two historic buildings, Flavelle House and Falconer Hall, on the St. George Campus in downtown Toronto.Your opportunity:Our team of high-performing advancement professionals is committed to robust and ambitious philanthropic and alumni engagement goals in support of the Faulty of Law. Under the direction of the Assistant Dean, Advancement the incumbent will lead and manage the annual giving programs on behalf of the Faculty, including direct mail, 1:1 cultivation and solicitation activities and stewardship. The Development Officer will also review and identify prospects both for the annual fund and major gift portfolios.Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Developing and implementing alumni engagement activities that support strategic objectives
- Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
- Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
- Implementing components of fundraising campaigns
- Updating prospect databases and portfolios
- Generating reports
- Monitoring accounts for a project and/or program
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five (5) years experience as an advancement professional within leadership, annual, major, and/or planned giving environments. Demonstrated experience in a fundraising role or relationship management role with a demonstrated track record of success.
- Demonstrated prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition experience.
- Demonstrated experience building and strengthening relationships with key donor contacts.
- Experience conducting development-related research to identify donor prospects and creating tailored fundraising packages.
- Experience developing components of fundraising campaigns and alumni-engagement activities that support strategic objectives.
- Demonstrated experience developing, coordinating and implementing tailored Advancement events and programming to engage donors, prospects, and alumni.
- Experience managing volunteers.
- Experience monitoring accounts for a program.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and database software.
- Experience with fundraising database ARBOR or related databases; experience maintaining databases, and preparing reports from multiple data sources.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written, with the ability to draft, proofread and edit a range of written material.
- Demonstrated initiative, tact, diplomacy, attention to detail, and creativity. Strong analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and professional presence necessary to successfully interact with donors, alumni, senior volunteers and stakeholders.
- Occasional work evenings and weekends to attend events.
