Digital and Marketing Content Consultant for LAC Regional Office, 12 months (Remote)

To enable UNICEF to deliver programmatic results for children, the organization needs to maximize income potential from the Private Sector. Latin America is a fast-growing region with high fundraising expectations. Unlocking the full potential of digital is key to realizing the growth of Individual fundraising in the region.

How can you make a difference? 

Under the close supervision of the LAC PSFR Cluster Manager, the Fundraising Consultant (Digital and Marketing Content) will support the implementation of LAC Cluster digital fundraising strategy. Digital plays a pivotal role in achieving the Gross Revenue planned in the upcoming years and is a strategic building block to align with the Global Individual Giving strategy. This consultancy will be key to achieving revenue goals in an increasing and more complex fundraising operation.

Within the support also of the LAC Cluster Digital Specialist Consultant, the consultant may be assigned the primarily, shared, or contributory accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties and key end results:

  1. Support the development and implementation of digital fundraising strategies and initiatives, including acquisition campaigns (pledge, leads, one-offs) and partner retention campaigns (line and circle) to deliver various fundraising KPIs across all digital channels:
  • Support planning, execution, and evaluation of the investment strategy of the different channels to obtain the maximum profitability in terms of ROI.
  • Support planning, execution, and evaluation of the objectives, strategies, and actions in the different digital capture channels: SEO / SEM, Display, Real Timing Biding, social networks, affiliation, and database capture actions, among others, seeking the maximum volume and profitability in terms of ROI.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a CRO (conversion rate optimization) strategy. Analyze the journey and user experience and obtain insights to implement.
  • Focus on creating work processes that can be tested with measurable results and have a quick impact on fundraising.
  • Support the development and implementation of digital acquisition campaigns (leads and direct donors).
  • Generate A / B testing actions and follow up on results.
  1. Keep up-to-date dashboards and metrics to track digital performance measurement and find the right tools to implement:
  • Develop a metric plan and propose KPIs in accordance with the Individual Giving strategy. ? Support the development of the strategy, implementation and optimization of web analytics: tags, tracking, metrics and implementation of pixels through Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Hotjar and other tools that may be necessary.
  • Propose improvements according to the results obtained.
  • Generate and share monthly digital reports. Develop dashboards to monitor key digital performance indicators.
  1. Coordinate all the necessary technological solutions to support the strategy of recruitment, retention, loyalty, value maximization, guaranteeing compliance with legal requirements:
  • Ensure digital platforms and activities protect data transfer.
  • Guarantee compliance with legal requirements in all digital activities, in the short and long term (GGPx, data management, etc.).
  1. Provide and support an up-to-date analysis of best practices, opportunities and trends and innovation related to digital fundraising, from the UNICEF network and external organizations:
  • Use innovation to identify new trends in digital transformation and develop new business models and channels.
  • Understand how digital organizations work and try to apply these principles in the daily work of LAC Cluster
  • Use the UNICEF network to apply the best digital learning. Analyze best practices and apply learning.
  1. Prepare marketing contents and campaigns.
  • Design and production of content for digital (landings, email, whatsapp, sms, web, social media, etc).
  • Adaptation or translation of global, regional, local fundraising contents to the reality and needs of each LAC Cluster office.
  1. Effective cross-functional coordination and collaboration:
  • Work in a coordinated way with the different fundraising channels and the Communication teams along the Cluster to successfully implement the LAC Cluster Digital Strategy.

Education

A first level university Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Fundraising, or other relevant fields is required. Any other additional training in a related field is an asset.

Work Experience

5 years of progressively responsible work experience in digital marketing or digital fundraising areas, with specific focus on areas such as digital acquisition, cultivation and retention of pledge donors, integrated media planning, and marketing communications and multi-channel campaign management. It would be an advantage if the person had gained the above experience in both agency and charity environments.

Languages

Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Technical knowledge

Specific content creation through various design and editing tools, based on digital performance. Specific paid media / performance marketing with a focus on SEM and paid social.

The ideal candidate should be proficient in key digital content creation tools, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) for graphic design and video editing, Canva for quick and engaging visuals, WordPress for content management, Google Analytics for performance tracking and SEO optimization, and Meta Business Suite for managing and scheduling social media content effectively.

Other skills and attributes

Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mind oriented.

Experience training and upskilling teams.

Excellent communication skills, (both written and oral) to translate complicated business requirements into technical based language, and vice versa.

Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.

Administrative details

Supervision: The consultant will work under the overall supervision and guidance of the LAC PSFR Cluster Manager.

Workplace: The consultancy is home-based. Travel may be involved. International/national travel may be required, discussed and agreed with the consultant (a separate travel line will be included in the contract).

Duration:  Estimated start date is March 2025 to February 2026 (12 months).

Qualified candidates are requested to indicate an all-inclusive (lump sum) fee for the services to be including all associated administrative and travel costs.

Consultants must have their own equipment, tools and materials needed to perform their services. They will use their own laptops/computers, any application or system needed to complete the assignment. They need to provide the full service without using UNICEF resources. The access to UNICEF email and system is restricted to UNICEF staff therefore consultants should not be granted access unless it is imperative to complete the assignment.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations, or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
