We strive to find and nurture extraordinary employees who bring their best each day.If you are interested in working in higher education and are looking to contribute to the largest polytechnic College in Ontario, as we shape the future of our students and communities, here is your opportunity to join our team.Job Details:Position Title: Digital Learning Build CoordinatorStatus: Appendix D – 1 Year ContractHours: 37.5 hours per weekFaculty/Department: Innovative Learning, Digital LearningCampus: North CampusSalary: FT Support Payband H: $35.06 – $40.71What you will do:Reporting to the Associate Dean, Digital Learning, the Digital Learning Build Coordinator (DLBC) is the lead front-end developer on course builds within Innovative Learning (IL) and will work collaboratively with build teams, including front-end developers, instructional designers, multimedia designers, subject matter experts, and project analysts. The DLBC also supports the greater college build community by recommending build tools, standards, and processes for front-end development and maintenance of digital learning content, guiding best practices in quality assurance and accessibility, and supporting focus groups within the community of practice for build developers. Digital learning content may be hosted on the LMS, on websites, and in other digital and interactive formats, including virtual and mixed reality. Occasionally, the DLBC will support and maintain back-end databases and department websites and may assist in integrating APIs and LTIs where required.The DLBC will offer tier-three support through the IL Support Centre as required, troubleshoot issues, and develop solutions for the LMS and related EdTech environments, support the department’s website(s), and liaise with members of the College community and third-party software partners where needed. The DLBC will demonstrate a consistent working knowledge and application of best practices in AODA, WCAG, and other relevant web accessibility frameworks, UDL, copyright/intellectual property, citation, and related practices.QualificationsWhat you bring to the role:Education:

  • Three-year diploma or degree in Front-End Web Development, Computer Programming, or a related discipline.
  • Further education and credentials in AODA, WCAG, and other accessibility requirements, relevant programming languages, and processes including HTML, CSS, CSS preprocessors (Sass preferred), JavaScript, jQuery, responsive web design (including responsive frameworks like Bootstrap and Foundation), implementing APIs, CMS (WordPress, Drupal), version control (e.g., Git). Significant experience with the LMS is preferred.

Experience/Skills:

  • Five (5) years in a professional development environment with current knowledge of database development and maintenance, API integration, and industry-standard learning management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Applied experience with Articulate Rise, HTML5, CSS/CSS3, jQuery, JavaScript, jQuery UI, WordPress, Drupal, Bootstrap, Foundations, PHP, SQL, MySQL, and various Adobe tools. Some exposure to Articulate Storyline and familiarity working with Figma files.
  • Familiarity with Mac and Windows platforms and good awareness of reliable digital learning asset creation resources currently in use inside and outside the institution.
