We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice on a Degree Apprenticeship.
Purpose:
You will work within the Marketing team at Selwood and understand how B2B marketing works, along with learning through an agreed apprentice course and using the tools and skills from that course in your working life to help the team and brand.Location: Chandler’s Ford, SO53 3ZLSalary: £18,000 per annum.Main responsibilities:

  • Learning how B2B marketing works, what different marketing components are at play and how the teams work together.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across the business, including spending time on work sites with the sales and solutions teams. Building relationships with the teams around Selwood is important to marketing and helps the team to create relevant and necessary materials that resonate with our customers.
  • Build on the digital presence that Selwood has, along with reviewing what platforms are being used and seeing where the opportunities are.
  • Learn how to use our sales enablement tool (training will be provided) and eventually take ownership of it over time.
  • Create case studies with the sales and solutions team. This is vital to the marketing of Selwood, as examples of what we have previously done with customers is an important way that we ensure continued business and contract renewal.
  • Learn the difference between B2B and B2C marketing, along with the importance of branding, company reputation and consistent messaging.
  • Work on the Selwood website, learning how it works and how to upload new content and update when needed.
  • Work with the team to organise items for events and order any additional materials required.

What we are looking for:
Desired skills and experience:

  • You will be working on multiple projects at once, so the ability to manage your time and work to deadlines is key.
  • You will be computer literate, using Microsoft programmes such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint regularly.
  • Some knowledge of the programme Canva would be advantageous but not necessary.
  • You will be working with the marketing team and wider teams within the company, therefore both written and verbal communication skills are important.
  • Social media skills and prior knowledge of LinkedIn are desirable as this is our most used social media platform.
  • We are a small marketing team so the ability to work within the team and pick up work where required is essential.
  • You will have a creative eye and keen eye for detail as well as an eagerness to produce new ideas.
  • Organisation is key as we are a small team who run a large amount of events across the year and business.

Essential:
Either a full UK driving license or working towards a full driving license is required as you will be required to travel to the office, as well as throughout the UK when necessary.Entry criteria:
Standard Entry:

  • To be eligible to study for a degree, typically candidates will have achieved grade C or above in at least five GCSEs, and at least two A-levels passes or any equivalent Level 3 qualifications.
  • Any Level 3 Apprenticeship

Non-standard Entry with work experience:

  • Equivalent work experience (typically 2 years relevant experience at an appropriate level) – candidates may have previously been in a digital marketer role or be able to demonstrate a real passion and personal experience in digital marketing.
  • Relevant professional qualifications and/or work experience will be taken into consideration where the applicant has the judged potential to benefit from the programme, allowing for contextualized applications. The nature of an applicant’s work experience is as important if not more so than the duration of that experience. The experience could include Digital and Marketing Analysts, Digital Marketing Executives, Digital Marketing Campaign Managers, Social Media Specialists, Content Marketing Executives, Digital Producers and Pay Per Click Analysts.

Informal Interviews:Informal interviews may be held by academic / admissions staff where:

  • The suitability of a candidate is in doubt and further evidence is sought.
  • The candidate presents an unusual set of qualifications taken or pending, and an appropriate conditional offer needs to be determined.
  • Candidates may need advice on the appropriateness of the programme.
