Digital Marketing Manager

University of South Wales

The University of South Wales is seeking an innovative, highly skilled, and experienced digital marketing professional to lead its Digital Marketing Team, Digital Strategy, and all associated digital operations. The Digital Marketing Team is part of the Future Students Department, which is responsible for marketing all aspects of the University, the ultimate goal of student recruitment. The role will be instrumental in effecting change across our digital platforms and delivering a sector-leading website.

Based at the University’s Pontypridd campus, but with ample opportunities for home working, the post-holder will adopt an innovative, integrated, customer-focused approach.

This role will involve planning, managing, and delivering our new Content Management System (CMS), including developing a website governance framework, principles, and all associated processes. The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering complex website projects and will drive our SEO, CRO and UX strategies to ensure best in class implementation. A crucial element of the University’s digital transformation, the new Content Management System is a high-profile project. The successful candidate will represent the Future Students department in all project delivery workstreams, ensuring key requirements are met, building strong internal relationships as well as effective liaison with external delivery partners.

We’re seeking an experienced digital professional who can quickly adapt to a high pressure, creative environment, ensuring a high standard of work in everything they do. Strong technical skills and determination to be best-in-class will be vital to succeed. The post-holder will need to be responsive, adaptable, and credible, and possess excellent forward-planning and communication skills.

Working closely with the Campaigns Planning and Brand Manager, the ideal candidate will be experienced in planning, delivering and evaluating coordinated, integrated, engaging and targeted digital and social media communications and content creation, serving undergraduate, postgraduate, international, professional and part-time markets that deliver on the University’s objectives, including student recruitment targets, digital and brand metrics.

The Digital Marketing Manager will be highly collaborative, experienced in motivating and leading teams, and excited by the prospect of taking the University’s website to a new level. The post-holder will be cognisant of the Welsh Language Standards and accessibility considerations and compliance, and will have a demonstrable ability to liaise with stakeholders from across the institution and externally, building credibility and securing buy-in.

This is a full-time, permanent role. The University is currently operating a hybrid-model of working. However, the successful candidate would be expected to work on campus for part of the week and travel between the University’s campuses will be required on occasion. Evening and weekend working is also a requirement of the role, as Future Students adopts a one-team approach to its Open Days and other recruitment events.
