OVERALL PURPOSE
The overall purpose of this role is to develop and implement the strategic direction of Greenpeace MENA’s digital marketing efforts. This involves setting long-term goals, developing innovative strategies, and ensuring that all digital initiatives are aligned with the organization’s broader campaign, engagement, and fundraising objectives.
Scope
The postholder is responsible for defining and executing the overarching digital marketing strategy. This role involves oversight of all social media and digital marketing activities, ensuring that they contribute to sustained audience growth, deepened engagement, and enhanced impact. The Digital Marketing Strategist will work closely with the digital team and cross-functional teams to integrate digital strategies across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
DEVELOP AND SUPPORT IN THE IMPLEMENTATION of the digital marketing strategy for Greenpeace MENA, setting clear objectives and key results to guide the team’s efforts and measure success.
ALIGN STRATEGIES across various teams, ensuring that paid and organic digital initiatives are cohesive and contribute to the overall mission of Greenpeace MENA. Foster collaboration and integration across departments to maximize impact.
OVERSIGHT OF CAMPAIGNS: Provide strategic direction for all digital advertising campaigns. Ensure that campaigns are innovative, data-driven, and aligned with Greenpeace MENA’s long-term objectives. Regularly review performance metrics to guide optimization efforts.
AUDIENCE INSIGHTS: Lead the development of audience segmentation strategies, using data analytics and insights to refine targeting and messaging. Oversee the implementation of advanced testing methodologies to enhance engagement and conversion rates.
INNOVATION AND RESEARCH: Champion the adoption of emerging digital trends and technologies. Evaluate the potential of new platforms and tools, and integrate them into Greenpeace MENA’s digital strategy as appropriate.
REPORTING AND EVALUATION: Oversee comprehensive reporting on the performance of digital channels. Ensure that insights from evaluations are systematically applied to improve future strategies. Communicate key findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
STRATEGIC COLLABORATION: Work closely with the Engagement Director and other senior leaders to align digital strategies with organizational priorities. Act as a key advisor on digital trends and their implications for Greenpeace MENA.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform any other duties as appropriate to the post and as delegated by the line manager.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Educational Qualifications
- A graduate or postgraduate degree (Master’s) in communications, marketing, digital media, or a related field.
Experience & Skills
- 7+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a strong background in strategic planning
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and optimizing large-scale digital campaigns across multiple platforms.
- Proven ability to set and achieve ambitious digital marketing goals, with a strong track record of driving growth and innovation.
- Advanced knowledge of digital marketing tools and analytics platforms, such as Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, and others.
- Excellent language skills in Arabic and English are essential.
