PHCV offers a portal to Providence Health Care (PHC) in Vancouver, Canada, a renowned provincial health organization whose lengthy innovation record and size make it an ideal incubator to validate and scale innovations. PHCV actively co-develops health solutions, incubate ideas, forge unconventional partnerships, facilitate consulting relationships with PHC clinicians, and invest in health start-ups. PHCV is a wholly owned, for profit subsidiary of PHC.Reporting directly to the President of PHCV, the Director, Business Development and Marketing is responsible for leading all aspects of PHCV business development and marketing including driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and strengthening customer relationships through the identification of new market and sales opportunities, implementing marketing strategies and building a network of customers. The Director will lead brand and marketing of PHCV to advance strategic priorities while maintaining and strengthening PHCV’s connection with customers, industry partners, and partners invested in PHCV. The Director will provide strategic leadership, planning, team management and cross functional collaboration. Leads and mentors staff ensuring the team is accountable for their results. In addition, the Director will provide progress reports, monitors sales pipelines and represent PHCV to external audiences.Qualifications / Skills and EducationEducation, Training and Experience:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or other relevant discipline, and a minimum of ten (10) years’ recent, related experience including a progressive track record of management / leadership experience. Heath care and startup experience is an asset.Skills and Abilities:

Duties and ResponsibilitiesStrategy:
Lead the business development and marketing efforts, including identifying new market segments, assessing market potential, and developing entry strategies.Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, partnerships, and distribution channels to expand market reach.Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and generate leads.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technical, project management, finance and operations to develop compelling product offerings and go-to-market strategies.Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to inform strategies and tactics.Leadership:
Lead and mentor staff, providing guidance, coaching and support to help them achieve their goals and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.Set clear goals and expectations for performance, recognizing and rewarding achievements while holding individuals and teams accountable for results.Cultivate a diverse and inclusive workplace where staff feel valued, empowered, and motivated to contribute their best work.Financial Performance:
Drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability through the effective planning and execution of business development and marketing strategies.Provide regular reports to track progress and provide insights into business development and marketing performance.Monitor sales pipeline and data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats, and adjust strategies accordingly.Customer and Partner Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships, and lead proposals and discussions with key customers, industry partners, and invested partners.Serve as a leading spokesperson for the company, representing its interests and articulating its value proposition to external audiences.Actively engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences, driving customer-centric innovation and enhancing customer satisfaction.Contribute to the negotiations of terms and conditions for the closing of sales agreements.Oversee the annual list of networking events for the PHCV team and direct the attendance by the appropriate team members.Maintain current knowledge of health system and care delivery changes to identify value added opportunities for customers and industry partners.Others:
Oversee the maintenance and updating of sales pipeline data in the Customer Relationship Management system.Provide business development and marketing support as needed for investment management, and intellectual property and commercialization.Work with senior leadership, staff, medical staff, researchers to educate and implement PHCV’s brand and engagement concepts and their applications to align with PHC’s overall innovation ecosystem.Work with PHC Communications and Public Affairs team members to ensure writing, production and delivery of marketing messages are consistent and aligned with PHC.Performs other related duties as assigned.
