The Director, Corporate FX Sales will take on an assigned portfolio of Corporate clients in Toronto and will be responsible for developing, maintaining and growing these relationships with the objective of maximizing risk management opportunities with the clientele.What You’ll Do:

  • Embrace a customer focused culture, deepening client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Identifies and develops business opportunities with clients, cross-selling existing relationships across other areas and product groups.
  • Drive customer expansion, through adding new customers and expanding our footprint with new clients
  • Evaluates and analyzes the hedging needs of Corporate clients, including understanding the fundamental risk management priorities and product needs.
  • Extensively leading client coverage for a portfolio of accounts, fostering partnership across the entire FICC product suite
  • Production of adequate market color and trade ideas, in addition to creating linkages between our client base and the trading desk.
  • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.
  • Creates an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Develop and learn the FX business procedures and processes.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant field
  • MBA and/or CFA designation (or working towards) would be an asset
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with derivatives and other capital markets/treasury
  • Proven record of client relationship management skills and willing to travel in Canada
  • Previous success in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Very strong business development and marketing skills. Sales experience in the Financial Services industry would be an asset
  • In-depth knowledge of hedging strategies including experience structuring non-linear solutions
  • Experience with FX systems including: Bloomberg, Wallstreet and Fenics/Murex
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills. Comfortable speaking in front of an audience and explaining complex ideas
  • Strong team player able to collaborate with internal groups in achieving cross sell objectives and franchise growth
  • Excellent PC skills with strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and data analysis in particular
  • Familiarity with hedge accounting would be an asset

Work Arrangement:
This position is currently an on-site role, with the expectation that you will work at least 4 days a week in the office.
