Our client, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering with manufacturing industry experience to be based in Quebec, Canada. As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of engineering projects, managing the engineering team, and driving innovation and growth within the company.Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the engineering team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies and initiatives that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to drive product development and delivery.
  • Manage the budget and resources of the engineering department to ensure optimal utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the engineering department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years roven experience as a Director of Engineering within Manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software.
  • Experience in running R&D projects from start to finish, across core disciplines: Automation & Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Development.
  • Knowledge of drafting software, with experience in AutoCAD considered an advantage.
  • Experience in mechanical, automation, and software development.
  • Skilled in R&D project management, familiar with Agile (Scrum) methodologies for R&D projects, and Waterfall methodologies (using tools like Jira and MS Project) for customer projects.
  • Familiarity with Vault, Content Center, and CAD to BOM workflows.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Fluency in English and French is preferred.
