Director of Learning Enhancement and Academic DevelopmentLocation: Musselburgh CampusSalary: Grade 10 Salary: £68,529 – £70,579Full time, PermanentREF: CVRG00038AWe are seeking a dynamic academic to lead the University (LEAD) and its professional learning and teaching development for academic staff, to contribute to the development of our learning, teaching and assessment practices, and to support educational and pedagogic research across the University.The Director of Learning Enhancement and Academic Development manages colleagues in LEAD and the team, reports to the , and works with academic staff across the , as well as with the University Secretary team, the Head of , the Digital group in Information Services, and the staff development function in Human Resources.The roleAs the Director of Learning Enhancement and Academic Development you will provide strategic leadership and direction that promotes the continuous development of learning, teaching and assessment across the portfolio of the University, including its online learning portfolio, and across our .You will design, develop and deliver innovative, efficient and effective practices that support the University learning and teaching activities, contribute to the delivery of our postgraduate course in Teaching, Learning and Assessment in Tertiary Education and the forthcoming PG certificate in Academic Practice, and support staff engagement with the Advance HE Fellowship scheme.Another critical part of your role is to contribute to the implementation of our Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy to enable an engaging, inclusive and high-quality student experience.About youYou will be an accomplished academic with a successful track record in the field of education or pedagogy with demonstrable experience in a management role in a learning development environment, with significant teaching and learning experience and a commitment to working with students as partners.As a respected and trusted leader, you will use your advanced experience and understanding of the use of virtual learning environments to enable and enhance student learning.What we can offer youWe are committed to equality of opportunity for all by providing a supportive, flexible and inclusive working environment, and we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.
