About the team or project:Manchester Metropolitan University’s Faculty of Health and Education offers a full range of programmes to almost 10,000 students across undergraduate, postgraduate and apprenticeship qualifications. As a large provider of education, nursing and allied health professionals in the region, the Faculty of Health and Education offers a diverse range of award-winning and innovative degree courses. As the faculty ‘of and for’ the professions, every year we work with our partners to provide over 9000 professional placements across health and education. Each year, almost 700 teachers, over 100 social workers, 400 nurses and 350 health professionals qualify from our programmes across a wide range of health and education disciplines including PSRB health programmes, initial teacher education and other non-PSRB provision. In addition, the faculty runs a number of other academic programmes across our disciplinary areas.Our work is professionally recognised, accredited and respected. Our innovative, vibrant programmes reflect our research activity, which enriches and informs the student experience.About the role:This strategic academic role will be responsible for partnership learning, including quality, compliance, safeguarding and partnership management across the faculty. The role will develop strategies for achieving an excellent portfolio of partners in health and education, including compliance, placement capacity and quality assurance.The postholder will work with senior colleagues, including the Faculty Director of Education, and two fellows in placements and partnerships, to further develop excellent partnership relationships and to strengthen the University’s profile and will further develop and deliver the strategy for partnerships across the faculty that aligns with Manchester Met’s ‘Road to 2030’ strategy and vision.The ambition is for Manchester Met to become the leading university-based provider of degree programmes in health and education in the region, with outstanding placement experiences for students and excellent partnerships across health and education. The post holder will also proactively respond to and embed government, PSRB and other local and national partners’ policies and agendas as well as local changes in regulations which affect our partnership provision.About the candidate:We are looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic and proactive colleague who has experience of placements and partnerships in higher education. The successful applicant will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to relate well to colleagues in our external partnership organisations as well as colleagues at all levels within the university.
