Are you a passionate and experienced leader ready to tackle environmental crime and abuse
head-on? This is a great time to join the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA), an
international NGO dedicated to defending the natural world. We’re looking for a
Director of Programmes to join our Executive Team and help lead us into our
next chapter of growth and impact.
About the Role
As EIA UK continues to grow, the scale and complexity of our programme and campaign work now
require expanded leadership capacity. We are appointing a second Director of Programmes to work
alongside the existing postholder, ensuring our programmes and campaigns, and Intelligence and
Investigations team are are delivered strategically, collaboratively, and effectively.
This is a co-leadership role and a key position within the Executive Team. The Director of
Programmes will oversee specific programmes of work and work in close partnership with the
fellow Director to ensure coherence and alignment across EIA UK’s broader programme portfolio.
This executive-level post carries significant responsibility for organisational leadership,
governance, compliance, and risk management. It plays a central role in advancing EIA UK’s
strategic direction and ensuring that programmes are effectively integrated with the
organisation’s operations.

About You
The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience at a Director level within a
non-profit organisation, working across multiple programmes and campaigns. You should have a
solid grasp of project management and financial management, and extensive experience
collaborating across core organisational functions, including Finance, Operations, HR,
Communications, and Fundraising, in an integrated leadership capacity. We are looking for
someone with strong interpersonal skills who can handle challenging conversations, deliver
engaging public speaking, and cultivate a positive team culture with both office-based and
remote staff.
