EAL Teaching Assistant-Primary
Location: Gateshead
Salary: £75 to £100 per Day
Start Date: ASAP/September 2024
Contract Type: Full-time or part-timeAre you passionate about helping young learners succeed in their education? GSL Education is looking for a dedicated EAL Teaching Assistant to join renowned primary schools in Gateshead from September 2024. As an EAL Teaching Assistant-Primary, you will play a key role in supporting teachers and helping students, especially those for whom English is an additional language, to achieve their full potential.Responsibilities of EAL Teaching Assistant-Primary:

• Assist teachers in the classroom to deliver engaging lessons and activities.
• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, focusing on language development and syllabus completion.
• Help EAL students with their understanding of classroom instructions and tasks.
• Support the teacher in adapting lesson materials to meet the needs of EAL students.
• Assist with behaviour management and ensure a positive learning environment.
• Encourage student participation and engagement, building their confidence in using English.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and provide feedback.

Requirements for EAL Teaching Assistant-Primary:

• CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
• Experience working as an EAL Teaching Assistant-Primary or in a similar role is required.
• Certification or degree in English as an Additional Language (EAL) is needed.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with children from diverse backgrounds.
• A commitment to helping students succeed in both their academic and language learning.
