Result of Service

The ultimate outcome of the service involves delivering a thorough report that outlines the project’s advancements, follow-up activities, and coordination efforts for the Development Account initiative titled ‘Advancing care policies for transformative recovery and resilience in Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia-Pacific, and the Arab States’. This report will not only document the actions taken thus far but also offer critical analysis, impact assessments, and recommendations to enhance the project’s effectiveness and continuous progress.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Coordinate and develop the first annual report with ESCAP and ESCWA due in the first quarter of 2025. 2. Coordinate the preparation of national workshops among ECLAC and ESCAP planned in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Lao PDR and Timor Leste in support of OP 1.1, including revise and share draft documents, summarize outcomes of workshops for periodic reporting. 3. Coordinate preparation activities relating to OP1.3, the international expert meeting to address challenges and best practices on measuring SDG Indicator 5.4.1. between ECLAC and ESCAP foreseen for April 2025. 4. Revise and systematize information on technical support activities (O.P. 2.2) in Colombia, Chile, Morocco, Timor Leste and Syrian Arab republic, and prepare reports for periodic reporting. 5. Contribute to preparation of regional meeting in ECLAC region in the framework of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean (August 2025) and meeting of Presiding Officers, and coordinate with regional meetings in ESCAP and ESCWA regions, including elaboration of background documents and preparation of reports (O.P.2.3) 6. Advance implementation of OP.2.4 One international workshop conducted to share knowledge and experience, planned as a side event in the framework of the 69th Commission on the Status of Women in March 2025 7. Support provision of inputs for OP.2.5. Policy document developed on sustainability and financing of care systems

Qualifications/special skills

A university degree in social sciences, sociology, political science, economics, among others is required. A graduate degree in social sciences is desirable. At least 7 years experience in care economy issues and gender public policies is required. Work experience with different UN Regional Commissions and agencies is desirable. Capacity to work autonomously and comply with deadlines is required. Project management experience is required.

Languages

For this consultancy fluency in English and Spanish are required.
