Overview

Ecologic Consultant Ecologists LLP is an ecological and arboricultural consultancy based in Exeter, Devon. We work on a range of projects across the southwest from small-scale householder projects such as loft conversions through to landscape recovery projects focused on habitat creation and enhancement. We are seeking to expand our experienced team with an experienced Ecologist or Senior Ecologist. This is a permanent, full-time position combining office-based and field-based work.

The Role

The role will be varied and will include the following responsibilities:

  • Undertaking PEAs using the UK Habitat Classification System & Biodiversity Condition Assessments
  • Undertaking protected species surveys
  • GIS mapping
  • Report writing
  • Ecological Clerk of Works
  • Managing projects

Criteria

  • At least two years’ experience of working in an ecological consultancy
  • Protected species licence/s
  • Knowledge of wildlife policy and legislation
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Proficiency in QGIS
  • Effective communicator
  • Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge
  • Organised and able to prioritise workloads
  • Educated to degree level (minimum BSc)
  • A full driving licence and access to your own transport
  • Have or are working towards CIEEM membership
