Education Coordinator Public Health Information Systems – PHSA eHealth ProgramProvincial Health Services Authority (PHSA)Vancouver, BCReporting to directly to the Clinical Manager, Public Health Information Systems, the Education Coordinator leads the development and execution of all Public Health Information System education programs and online activities. This role works closely with partners across BC, Yukon and First Nations to coordinate, promote and develop education materials, programs and sessions to meet the needs of the Public Health Information Systems support teams and end users.What you’ll do

  • Identify opportunities to meet educational needs of end users, application support teams and PCST by conducting ongoing environmental scans, being aware of emerging issues and areas of greatest need, pinpointing key leaders and potential opportunities for collaboration with external stakeholders, and cultivating partnerships for action.
  • Lead the coordination, planning and development/facilitation of all education activities and initiatives in collaboration with PCST team members and Provincial/Territorial stakeholders. Lead educational activities by building and maintaining relationships; acting as a resource for all relevant stakeholders and learners; represent the BCCDC in partnership alliances, relying on evidence-based program development strategies.
  • In collaboration with the PCST team, stay abreast of Provincial/Territorial population health programs and initiatives and work with stakeholders providing information on education programs/materials that PCST offers.
  • Draft and develop multimedia materials, marketing materials and other educational materials.
  • Maintain and oversee the development, implementation and distribution of a variety of written/visual material such as program publications and resource materials for various applications.

What you bring

  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in adult education, communications, health sciences, public administration, or a related discipline
  • Five (5) years of experience, preferably in a health care setting.

  • Knowledge of issues related to adult learning, education material development and coordination.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical and public health terminology.
  • Motivate change, provide guidance and support to others.
  • Work independently and as a team member to resolve issues/problems.
  • Analyze and solve problems, and the initiative and independence to anticipate problems and proactively correct or prevent them.
  • Use computer related tools including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and internet and presentation software at an advanced level.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing including the ability to work with discretion when handling information of a confidential or sensitive nature.
  • Initiative, organize and prioritize work, work under time pressures to meet deadlines and handle interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Commitment to develop knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments found in the foundational documents – including Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight (2020), BC’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Calls for Justice (2019), the Declaration Act Action Plan and Remembering Keegan: A First Nations Case Study – and how they intersect across the health care system.

Job Type: Regular, Full-TimeSalary Range: $67,861 – $97,550/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan.
