About the Role

The post holder will provide a dedicated service for students and graduates from the School of Business and Management (SBM). They will be based in the Careers and Enterprise department to exploit existing employer relationships, but will spend time within the School to ensure integration with the academic department. They will also work closely with other Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Internships Coordinators, to maximise productivity and efficiency of placing HSS students into opportunities.

About You

We are looking for someone who will initiate and build relationships with a range of employers and alumni for sourcing internship opportunities for SBM students (both undergraduate and postgraduate). The post holder will proactively negotiate opportunities for internships, market these to students, place students into internship roles and liaise with employers and students to ensure the smooth running of internships and to gather feedback.

About the Department

Careers and Enterprise develops the employability of Queen Mary University of London students and

graduates by helping them to find and prepare for work, including internships and part-time jobs. We

are a team of 53 FTE staff, working across all undergraduate and postgraduate Schools at Queen

Mary. This post will be part of an Employer Engagement Team taking a coordinated approach to external liaison, maximising all forms of work experience for students. They will work with other staff across Careers

and Enterprise to offer a comprehensive programme of activities and events which employers can

engage in, maximising progression opportunities for students and graduates to improve Graduate

Outcomes Survey (GOS) results and to encourage them as alumni to support current students on

their career journey both within the UK and internationally.

The post is based at our Mile End Campus in London. It is a full time, indefinite appointment. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £37,348 – £43,592 annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
