Enforcement Team Leader
£41,617 (+£2,117 Weighting Allowance for London Abbey Wood
location)
Farnham, London SE2 (Abbey Wood), Reading, Wallingford, Welwyn Garden
City
Staff Grade: 5
Are you a motivated and enthusiastic professional ready to make a difference? You will lead on
establishing a new team of officers with the sole focus on the enforcement of water company
activities in our South East enforcement hub, working alongside a network of colleagues in
national and local teams.
Your team will have a critical operational role to protect the environment, helping create a
cleaner, safer and healthier environment for people and wildlife.
Your team will address incidents and enforcement issues in the water industry, including those
of reputationally and environmentally high risk. Such a broad scope of work calls for diverse,
multi-skilled teams. You will manage and motivate experienced officers as well as those new to
the business, so you’ll need to have good team management, performance and work delivery
skills. You’ll work with compliance, enforcement and legal teams to establish and embed new
ways of working.
Your role will include maintaining the health, safety and wellbeing of your team, supporting
them to develop themselves, identifying training needs and managing ways of working to ensure
we can meet the needs of the future. You will need to balance the work within your team to
ensure that they are focussed on the areas that will deliver the greatest environmental
benefit.
You will mostly be office based with occasional site visits.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an
incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business
continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full
training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your
incident role.
We will provide comprehensive training and ensure you have the tools, equipment, and protective
clothing needed to carry out your duties safely and effectively.
There may be occasional overnight stays required, for example, to attend training courses.

The team brings specialist enforcement expertise to:
