About The Role
Caerlaverock is a stunning nature reserve situated on the north Solway coast. We are
looking to recruit a motivated and proactive Engagement Placement to join our team.
The main duties of the post are to assist in raising the profile of WWT Caerlaverock as a very
social place to experience nature and for wetland conservation. This will include gaining
experience of producing high quality social media content, planning and running events and
activities on and off-site, writing articles and press releases to promote the site and
delivering face to face interpretation to visitors.
This is a part time, fixed term position until 31st March 2026, working 22.5 hours per week,
across 3 days. This post is funded through the Holywood Trust and it is a funding
condition that the placement must be a young person aged up to and including 25 years old. It
is also a funding condition to prioritise candidates residing in Dumfries and Galloway however
applications from out of the region are welcomed.
There is the possibility of accommodation in a shared house on site which is available at
reasonable rental rates if required.
About You
This role will give valuable experience and some training for someone with a desire for a career in environmental communications and engagement. It would suit someone who has a creative and dynamic approach to work and one who wants to make a difference. Ideally we are looking for someone with some experience of writing content for different audiences. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and some knowledge of online marketing and use of social media. If this sounds like you click apply.
