You will work alongside seasoned professionals, gaining valuable experience in repairing, maintaining, and improving operationally critical equipment to support site manufacturing of medicines and medical devices.This role is specifically aimed at an GCSE, A-Level or T-Level student who is looking for the first step on the career ladder. Alongside your role as the Engineering Apprentice, you will undertake the 42-month Engineering & Manufacturing Support Technician (Level 3) Apprenticeship to achieve your qualification through a mixture of on-site and online academic learning.How You Will Make an Impact?On a day-to-day basis your key responsibilities will include:
- Learn and support the site wide 6S program.
- Ensure the work area is maintained in a clean and safe and well-ordered condition.
- To maintain all necessary records of maintenance.
- Follow all engineering safe systems of work (Permit To Work, Lock out Tag Out etc).
- Complete documented risk reviews prior to commencing any job.
- Ensure stock levels of appropriate parts are maintained.
- Complete all Engineering Work Orders (EWO) documentation.
- Support the clean down and set up of machinery in production areas.
- Gain knowledge of plant and equipment specification.
- Observe installation and commissioning of equipment.
- Comply with GMP procedures.
What We Are Looking For?
- Educated to at least GCSE level, with passes at grade 4 or above in English and Maths (or predicted grades if completing A levels in summer 2025).
- A keen interest in electrical & mechanical engineering.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage various stakeholders in person, by phone, chat messaging and email.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
- Good IT skills with a proven ability to use Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
