Enchanced Teaching Assistant with SENGrade 6 £25,979 to £28,770 pro rataPermanentRequired from 1st September 2024The Interim Executive Board of The Meadows School are seeking to appoint a highly ambitious, skillful and self-motivated Teaching Assistant to:Work with young people who have a range of significant and often complex SEND specifically Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviour, Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and learning needs.To work under the instruction of teaching staff to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching.To undertake specified work with individuals, groups and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.To encourage the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school, and enable pupils to become more independent learners.To undertake work / support programmes to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils.Please refer to the attached Job Description for a full list of responsibilities.The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.Calculation of term time only plus two weeks’ payTerm time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following:

  • Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus
  • Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
  • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks; plus
  • Individual leave entitlement – 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days)

Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
