Our client is a multidisciplinary professional services firm providing business administration, project and infrastructure management services in the global aviation fuel and aircraft de-icing sector. Their specialized team assists more than 50 global commercial and cargo airlines with first class stewardship and development of their strategic airport assets throughout North America.Responsibilities:
The role of the Environmental Advisor is to provide environmental support to aircraft refuelling and de-icing facilities at major Canadian airports. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical support to local environmental programs, and support for the implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) in order to achieve compliance with the organization’s Environmental Policy and applicable regulatory requirements.
– Develops, implements and maintains EMS programs, and procedures.
– Analyzes regulatory requirements and provides technical advice.
– Participates in and supports environmental regulatory compliance and management system audits.
– Interacts with operations, airport authorities and other stakeholders to ensure consistent and
thorough implementation of EMS programs and procedures.
– Develops performance indicators, training programs and recommends improvements to
emergency response plans.Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, environment, health, safety or other related field of
study and 10 years of directly related work experience in environmental management for operational activities
– Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements
– Demonstrated technical skills with environment media (air, water, soil ).
– Ability to develop and implement management systems and processes
– Knowledge of the ISO 14001 standard, risk assessment and system auditing
– Effective influence, communication, and interpersonal skills
– Experience in interaction with regulators at the provincial and federal level
– Experience in supporting environmental regulatory compliance at multiple facilities
– Professional certification (professional engineer, CRSP, EP (CEA), EP(EMSLA))
