The successful candidate must be a self-motivated Estimator with experience in Environmental Remediation, Construction and Demolition projects.As an Environmental Construction Estimator, you will work within the Arcadis Construction Services (ACS) Group supporting projects related to environmental remediation/decommissioning across Canada. This candidate can reside anywhere in Ontario but will be required to complete site visits as required by project teams or clients/owners. This is a hybrid opportunity with a balance of remote work and office/site visits as required (10% travel).Role accountabilities:The role will be to work as a team to pursue industry opportunities and present to management potential tenders that may be of interest to the organization through the formal bid review process. This will include reading and understanding all components of the request for pricing and analyzing the documentation for liability to the organization form a contractual and field execution perspective.The candidate will be expected to be able to work with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal Arcadis groups (Senior Management, Construction Operations, Technical Specialists) to assemble prequalification’s and comprehensive bids with the use of our bid software (Bid-2-Win). This scope of work would also include the entire, and/or, partial preparation of proposal writeups as required by the Request for Bids or prequalification’s.Additionally, the candidate will be expected to service construction projects during the execution of contracts by aiding in the assembly of Change Order pricing with collaboration with Project Managers to assure projects meet the corporations standard operating procedures.Key Attributes:

  • Ability to analyze drawings and specifications to understand the scope or work and perform take-offs.
  • Ability to work across the organization as a leader and a part of a team.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction scheduling, contracts, quality control, engineering principals, drawings, and environmental regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction best practices and standards across Canada.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify/mitigate risks and provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to coordinate and execute multiple scopes of work under an environment of strict deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Construction Services
  • Work experience in Environmental Construction (Heavy Civil Remediation/Demo-Abatement)
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Diploma, or equivalent experience
  • Experience utilizing estimating software (i.e.: Construction Link / Bid to Win / Hard Dollar / Excel / Other)
  • Experience working with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 preferred or MS Project
  • Working Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Suits
  • Valid Driver License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-field construction experience (as a Project Manager or Site Supervisor)
  • Experience on mining, and oil and gas sites
  • Experience pricing estimates nationwide
  • Experience managing the procurement of large scale / valued estimates
  • Experience in Financial Reporting of Projects
  • Experience using software such as Bluebeam, Adobe, AutoCAD,and Revit
