We have proudly built an organization around the importance of providing quality and value the relationships we have with our clients as much as the communities we serve.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYWe are seeking a dynamic candidate to work closely with our field and project management teams, playing an integral role in the expansion of our operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development within your area of expertise.Responsibilities will be divided between fieldwork (70%), which includes travel and working remotely, and in-office support (30%).Occasionally, this position may require the applicant to work alone for extended periods of time (following appropriate safety protocols).As an Environmental Field Technician, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Conduct Biophysical Assessments
- Perform Wildlife Sweeps and Nest Searches
- Carry out Targeted Species Surveys
- Complete Wetland Assessments
- Analyze field data to develop management and mitigation strategies
- Deliver accurate and timely technical reports
- Liaise with on-site client representatives and contractors
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing and supporting regulatory applications
- Assist with other responsibilities as needed to contribute to the overall success of the team
We are looking for the following skills and qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments
- Familiarity with the environmental permitting and approvals process
- Knowledge of AER OneStop system (an asset)
- Understanding of Sensitive Species Inventory Guideline protocols
- Knowledge of the Public Land Act (an asset)
- Familiarity with local, provincial, and federal environmental legislation (an asset)
- Experience in wildlife sweeps, wetland assessments, plant and wildlife identification, field data collection, and reporting
- Eligibility for Alberta’s Professional Regulatory Organizations
- Willingness to learn and grow in the role
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate field findings
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Valid driver’s license
