The Coaching required enhances leaders’ effectiveness by promoting self-awareness, improving decision-making, and fostering stronger communication and influence. It provides accountability, helping leaders stay focused on goals, while also empowering their teams by promoting a culture of ownership and growth. Additionally, coaching builds leaders’ adaptability and resilience, preparing them to handle challenges with agility. Ultimately, coaching encourages leaders to mentor future generations, leaving a lasting impact on their organization.

How are we hoping to build coaching across the Partnership?
We are looking to build access to leadership and other coaching over the course of this FY to provide more access to coaching for a larger number of leaders and managers. We intend to do this through:
• An ongoing relationship with the ICF Foundation
• Expanded WV Register of Coaches
• Partnering with external coaching services and organizations
• Informal internal network of accredited/accrediting volunteer coaches
Our intention is to incrementally increase access to coaching over the next three years, to ensure that any one at senior leader level in the organization who needs coaching has easy access to a coaching service.

The criteria which we are looking for :
Our ideal situation would be that we could negotiate contracts with coaches which would give us the preferential rate for SLDP coaching, but also provide for non-SLDP coaching, in one contract and with one PO number. For GC P&OC, this would mean that we could:
• Keep our SLDP coaching costs down
• Make these “preferred” coaches more accessible as others would be able to use their services without having to go through the procurement process
• Avoid locking in coaches at the SLDP price for all the coaching they do for the organisation, and through this create goodwill and hopefully increased retention
