An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an Estate Forester to join our team on a full-time
basis for a one year fixed term contract.

The Role 

As an Estate Forester, you will assist our Forest Estate Officer in a range of tasks to support
our estate, gaining experience in forestry, land management and conservation initiatives. 

Working with contractors, businesses, communities and external partners, you will support the
establishment, maintenance, management, engagement opportunities and development of our sites. 

You will also support wider initiatives, including grant programmes for forest creation and
woodland management. 

Additionally, you will: 

  • Co-ordinate contractors for site preparation work
  • Contribute to woodland and habitat management plans
  • Assist with regular inspections of the estate and develop skills in tree inspections
  • Record data for research trials and support our public and community events
  • Develop good working relationships with farmers, estate owners and other stakeholders

About You 

To be considered as an Estate Forester, you will need: 

  • A degree level qualification in forestry, land management, environmental studies or
    horticulture
  • Knowledge of woodland and/or habitat management techniques
  • Good communication, organisation and project management skills
  • A full, valid driving licence

Graduate Estate Officer, Trainee Conservation Officer, or Junior National Park Officer.
